This is not a simple redesign of Notion, even if at first sight it would seem like it. I tried to maintain most of the visual identity of Notion while adding or modifying specific things, not for the sake of a visual redesign but for better functionality targeting the goals I have: fulfilling tools that are easier for non-tech or data-driven people to understand and which meet the needs of the film industry.
Along with the visual implementation of several functionality elements, I did some basic research about the available tools (besides the ones I already knew about) and sent a survey to a few people that could help me better understand the way they work, as well as the issues they face with their workflows and how a set of tools related to this proposal could improve their jobs.
What better way to do it than on Notion itself? I have been writing bits and pieces of all my ideas in multiple places but ended up deciding it was time to put it all together here. I also used Sketch to create my designs and Google Forms to send out the surveys.
